Artist’s Statement

This exhibition is a showcase of Aek Phakiti’s seascape oil paintings on canvas. The song/metaphor ‘Wind beneath my wings’ underlines the theme of these paintings. This theme is to acknowledge that other people, such as our family, colleagues and friends, help us succeed our goal. Their love, encouragement and concern for us are important sources of energy that help us achieve and shine. It is hence important to let them know that they are much appreciated. So, don’t forget to thank people who have been supportive of you and tell them “you are the wind beneath my wings” (Jeff Sibar & Larry Henley, 1982).

Two paintings sold!

Two of Aek Phakiti's Paintings were sold!

I offered to auction my four paintings at the Inaugural ALTAANZ (Association for Language Testing and Assessment of Australia and New Zealand) Conference 2012 at The University of Sydney (see my last post for more details). However, there was no auction.

Fortunately, two of the four paintings were purchased at the reserved price. So I am so thrilled that I will be able to donate the money to ALTAANZ for future student ALTAANZ travel grants.

I wish to thank the two buyers wholeheartedly.

Here are some photos to share with you.
